5. Lease Period

Each consignment lot is listed for a period of one (1) calendar month from the date of listing ("the Lease Period").

5.1 Discount Period

During the final week of the Lease Period, items will be discounted to encourage sale before the lease expires:

  • If the consignor has nominated a discount price at drop-off, that price will apply in the final week
  • If no discount price has been nominated, a 30% discount will be applied automatically

5.2 Restocking

Consignors who wish to add new items during an active Lease Period may do so subject to the applicable restocking fee:

  • Self-Service (DIY): $5.00 per restocking
  • Full Service: $10.00 per restocking

6. Payouts

Payouts will be processed within seven (7) days of the consignor's lease period ending. Payment is made via direct bank transfer to the consignor's nominated Australian bank account.

Consignors are responsible for providing accurate bank details. The Preloved Cub accepts no liability for misdirected payments resulting from incorrect details provided by the consignor.

Payouts of less than $5.00 may be held over to the following payout cycle.

7. Unsold Items

At the end of the Lease Period, consignors will be notified of any unsold items. Consignors may choose to:

  • Collect their items from our premises at an agreed time, or
  • Donate unsold items — see donation guidelines below

8.1 Donation Guidelines

The following unsold items will be donated to charity:

  • Brand new with tags (BNWT) items
  • Items in sizes under 0 (6–12 months and smaller) — donated to a charity of The Preloved Cub's discretion

All other donated items will be added to The Preloved Cub's community tubs, where they are made available to the community for $1.00 each.

8.2 Uncollected Items

Uncollected items will be held for a period of seven (7) days following the end of the Lease Period. After this time, uncollected items will be treated as donated and handled in accordance with the donation guidelines above. The Preloved Cub accepts no liability for uncollected items after this period.

8. Care of Items & Liability

While The Preloved Cub will take reasonable care of all consigned items, we are not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of items while they are in our possession or on display. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Damage caused by buyers handling items prior to purchase
  • Loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • Natural deterioration of items during the consignment period
  • Damage occurring during transport, at markets, or at any other location where items are displayed

By consigning items with The Preloved Cub, consignors acknowledge and accept that items are left entirely at their own risk. Consignors are advised to retain a personal record of all items submitted for consignment.

9. Closet Cash Out

Closet Cash Out is a separate buy-outright service offered by The Preloved Cub. Under this service, we assess and purchase items directly from the seller. This is not a consignment arrangement. Payouts under Closet Cash Out are:

  • Cash: 10–20% of assessed resale value
  • Store credit (gift card): 20–30% of assessed resale value

All Closet Cash Out transactions are final once accepted by the seller. Items not accepted will be returned to the seller at an agreed time.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the consignment arrangement at any time by providing written notice. Upon termination:

  • Any outstanding payout owed to the consignor will be processed within seven (7) days
  • Unsold items will be made available for collection within seven (7) days
  • Lot fees and restocking fees are non-refundable

  • Decline any items at our sole discretion
  • Adjust item pricing to facilitate a sale
  • Remove items from sale at any time
  • Terminate a consignment arrangement where a consignor has not complied with this policy

Continued use of our consignment services constitutes acceptance of the current policy as published on our website. This policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
